Then you plug in your numbers. M= 4-2 divided by 3-1. Simplify, and you got 2 over 2, which equals 1. The slope of this line is 1. To put the line into slope intercept form, you must first put it into point-slope form. Point slope form is y- y1=m(x-x1). So if you plug in your numbers, you get y-2=1(x-1). Then you distribute and get y-2=1x-1. Add 2 to both sides and get y=1x+1.
